Leading a hectic life as a busy mom can grind down even the strongest willed of us. From early mornings to broken sleep during the nights to dealing with tantrums and diaper changes, being a mom can be quite difficult. But, when you put all of those aspects to one side and think about how happy your child makes you, none of that matters at all and we realize that this will definitely all be worth it in the end, and we would not have it any other way. As life can get even busier than before, when your little ones arrive, it can be hard to maintain any routine or schedules that you had developed before. You may not be able to go to the gym at 9 am on the dot, your lunch most certainly will not be dead on 12.30 like before, and your friends will eventually get used to your texts saying that you are going to be late (but, of course, they will understand). Again, missing your routine does not matter in the grand scheme of things because your child is your world.
However, you must keep on top of your health during these busy times. It is not a good aspect to miss meals, and to neglect the gym. You still must be able to control these aspects of your life, even if it means your other half is sacrificing parts of their lives or even asking family and friends to help out.
When it comes to meals, a good idea could be to prepare your meals for the next day, on the night before. Make sure that every meal you prepare can be reheated and that there is no potential of it becoming dangerous to eat (especially if you have used food which was close to its use by date). Smoothies and juices can also benefit your health, and depend on what you put in them can be full of vitamins and minerals which can aid your health. If you are struggling to maintain a healthy diet, then you could potentially think about asking friends and family for help in preparing your meals. If you may feel a bit embarrassed or awkward to ask for help, do not be. People close to you will be only too willing to help you out, and they will more than likely prepare homemade, nutritious and delicious meals for you.
Being a mom is life changing, but you should be careful not to let it get in the way of your health. After all, if your health wanes and you lose energy, concentration, and focus, you may feel that you can’t interact with your children as much as you’d like – so keep on top of your diet and maintain your health.
