Being a Super Mom: Everything You Need to Remember in the First Years of Having a Baby

Having a baby is undoubtedly the number one hardest, most life changing thing you will ever go through. There are a lot of stuff that you need to change about yourself because you are going through so many different things in your life. Regarding your body, your time, your energy and mainly just the fact that you have to dedicate your entire life to something new almost overnight. This is such an amazing thing to do, and most mothers wouldn’t change it for the world. There are a few things you need to remember in the first few years of having a baby, and here they are:

1) When you’ve had a baby, it seems that your whole life changes. You have to give so much attention to your new baby. However, it is so massively important to look after yourself first. How could you ever expect to raise a newborn without being in the best condition you can. Of course, this is so hard when you’re so focused elsewhere. To be the super mom you need to be, make sure you are still taking care of yourself. Take enough showers, eat enough food, do enough exercise. It is so important for you and you’ll be able to do the best job that you possibly can, you’ll thank yourself for it and will appreciate the looking-after-yourself time.

2) Another thing you need to do is to do your research into things your baby needs. There are so many different products out there so make sure that you read all the reviews that are out there. For example, there are so many different high chairs, and you need one that is the best one for your house. Have a look at this review on Peg Perego Siesta and how it compares against similar high chairs. That way you’ll be able to tell if it is best for you. It is so easy to just go for the first one you see or the cheapest one, but after you’ve got it, you’ll want to kick yourself for not doing all the research.

3) Get enough sleep! Sleep is one of the first things that goes away when you first have a baby, one of the most common rules is to go to sleep when the baby is asleep. Even if you just get a little 20-minute nap, it all does add up, and without sleep, you just won’t be able to look after your baby the best you can.

4) There is a lot of pressure from so many different people and websites and all sorts of places that want you to do things in a certain way. You can’t let the pressure get to you! You can’t take anything to heart because this is your baby and you are the one raising him or her. Everyone has different opinions, but no one knows better than you what is best for your child. Stick to your instincts and most importantly, enjoy your time with your baby while they are still young, this age will fly by, and you don’t want to miss a second of it!
